Kerrville police make a bust on an alleged robbery suspect
Kerrville Police said they apprehended a suspect in a convenience store robbery.
Kerrville police arrested a Kerrville man suspected of robbing a convenience store in the 3300 block of Memorial Boulevard at 6:11 a.m. on Monday.
Police said an employee reported that a male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, gloves, and a surgical mask entered the store’s office, pushed the employee and stole money. The suspect then fled the scene. Despite the disguise, the robbery victim recognized the suspect as a former employee and provided officers with the suspect’s name and last known address.
Police said that tip led them to Mathew Meeks, 29, who had several outstanding warrants with Kerrville Municipal Court and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers said they followed the suspect’s route as he ran from the scene and located evidence the suspect had discarded. Officers later found the suspect in his residence in the 3300 block of Legion Drive. Police said they took Marks into custody for the outstanding warrants.
KPD’s Criminal Investigations Division detectives responded to assist with the investigation. Police said the suspect was found to have some of the stolen money. Police found more money inside his residence.
