BREAKING NEWS: Vincent Voelkel enters race for Kerrville mayor

Voelkel previously served one term on the Kerrville City Council.

Former Kerrville City Councilman Vince Voelkel is in the race to succeed Bill Blackburn as Kerrville’s mayor.

Voelkel’s candidacy was confirmed on Friday by the city of Kerrville.

Voelkel served on the City Council for one term — 2017-2019. He did not run for re-election on the Place 1 ballot in 2019.

In the race for mayor, Voelkel will face Place 3 City Councilwoman Judy Eychner, who filed last week. Eychner has served two terms on the City Council.

Voelkel is a surveyor with his family’s Voelkel Land Surveying, PLLC, which has been in business since 1982.
