Changes are coming to The Kerr County Lead

Those who paid through Facebook for subscriptions will be given refunds.

Dear Subscribers,

The Lead is beginning its migration to a new website and email system to deliver the weekday newsletter. As many of you know, we are leaving the Meta-backed Bulletin service and are heading to a company called Indiegraf.

We are grateful for Facebook's initial support of this foray into local journalism. We are disappointed they didn't see the value in how deeply reported and community journalism can play a vital role in the life of every American. Facebook laid the foundational effort for us to build The Lead over the last 18 months, and now we're headed in an even stronger direction.

As part of this change, we are notifying our subscribers who paid through Facebook Pay about refunds they can expect in the coming days. That's right; Facebook is going to give you back your money. The plan is for credit cards used in Facebook Pay transactions to be credited.

For those who subscribed through Square, we are honoring your subscription terms. We will continue to honor the annual transactions for those Facebook Pay customers. For those month-to-month subscribers, we will be sending out a new subscription link in the next week so that you're ensured access to our content.

After Tuesday, the paywall on kerrcounty.bulletin.com will cease. We are working diligently to bring you a new and improved version of The Lead. If you have questions, please email me at louis.amestoy@kerrcountylead.com.

Regards,

Louis Amestoy
