Lego Club
Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library
4 p.m.
Everyone is excited to announce that the Lego Club will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the library meeting room. All ages are welcome to participate and registration is not required. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their cameras, as the Lego creations will remain at the library.
What’s the connection between Legos and books? Promoting play contributes to early literacy development by increasing attention span, memory, creativity, and language and vocabulary skills. It also lays the foundation for logical-mathematical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving — things children will carry with them throughout their school years, according to “Play = Learning,” a recent study by Dorothy Singer, a senior research scientist at Yale University’s Department of Psychology and Child Study Center.
