  • Birds of the Hill Country — The Kerr Regional History Center, 2-3 p.m. Information: (830) 258-1274 or visit the city's webpage at www.kerrvilletx.gov. The details: Native Texan Deloris Sellin and 44-year Texan Paul Sellin have been birdwatching in Texas and nationally since 1995. Since moving to Kerr County in 2015, Deloris, a retired school librarian and educator, and Paul, a retired Texas CPA and auditor, have continued their interest in sharing their knowledge of birds, especially by leading the Riverside Nature Center's monthly bird walk since the spring of 2016. Each year, they have participated in two or more Christmas bird counts in Kerr and Bandera counties.

The details: The Hill Country Poets will hold an open mic poetry event. Poems do not need to be original, but should inspire and entertain. All material needs to be appropriate for a mixed-age audience. Those who wish to participate will need to register on-site at 10:15 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided, and you do not have to perform to attend.

  • Bandera Mounted Shooters — Gravity Check Saloon and Arena, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information: https://www.gravitychecksaloonandarena.com The details: A great day of fun and excitement by the Bandera Shooters, members of the Cowboy Mounted Shooters of America. Watch as they practice and ride through a course to shoot (using black powdered blanks) the balloons lined up throughout the pattern. This is also a fantastic opportunity for horse owners interested in trying out this fun, fast-paced sport! Bring your horse and be ready to try it out!
