Kerr County Sheriff's Office investigates Ingram shooting death

One Ingram man is dead, while another is held at Kerr County Jail in connection with the shooting.

An Ingram man is dead, and another is sitting in Kerr County Jail accused of murder.

The Kerr County Sheriff's Office said a verbal altercation between roommates escalated into a shooting on Sunday. The sheriff's office said they received a 9-1-1 call from the 200 block of Beaver Road in Ingram with a shooting report.

When emergency medical technicians arrived, they found one man, Dennis Allen Crawford, 57, wounded. Crawford died at the scene. Deputies arrested Brad Rick Way, 52, of Ingram, on suspicion of shooting Crawford.

Brad Rick Way, 52, of Ingram, is held at Kerr County Jail on one charge of murder.

Deputies said alcohol may have been a factor in the shooting and that Way and Crawford were roommates at the residence where the shooting took place. The Texas Rangers assisted with the investigation and forensic processing of the scene.

"All too often, disagreements escalate and spin out of control," Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said. "In this case, either party could have walked away and diffused the situation before lethal force was used. This outcome did not need to happen. We offer our condolences to the families involved and thank the Texas Rangers for their assistance in evidence gathering and investigation."

Way faces one charge of murder is at Kerr County Jail, where he's awaiting bond.
