Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau hosts blood drive on Tuesday

Stop by the Sidney Baker Street office to make a donation that could save a life.

With blood supplies running low, the Kerrville Convention and Visitors Bureau and the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center are partnering to host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the visitors center parking lot, 2108 Sidney Baker St.

Donors are encouraged to register before attending by visiting https://bit.ly/3NtQotg. Donors with a minimum age of 16 must weigh 120 pounds and have a legal guardian present. Donors who are 17 must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present a photo ID.

The recent events from the May 24 mass murder of school children and teachers in Uvalde proved a motivation for the KCVB to host the blood drive. Staff member Leslie Jones, a regular on The Lead Live, is from Uvalde and attended Robb Elementary School as a child, and the staff said they felt it was imperative to host the drive.

Potential Donors are also encouraged to check out https://biobridgeglobal.org/donors/blood-donation/ for more information about the process and eligibility.
