Here's what Arcadia Live Executive Director Mike Kelliher said: "It's to bring all of our kids out; they're going to get their pictures taken with Santa. They're going to get a goodie bag. They get to watch a short animated holiday film."

22nd Annual Texas Furnituremakers Show

Kerr Arts and Cultural Center

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The 22nd Annual Furniture Makers Show runs through Dec. 17. We highly recommend the show and here are our five favorite things to see at the show:

Gingerbread House Decorating

Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library, Kerrville

12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of fun and create a new holiday memory at the 8th Annual Gingerbread House Decorating event. The library will supply the gingerbread house and all the sweets to decorate it. Just bring your creativity.

Kids Holiday Craft Day

Museum of Western Art, Kerrville

3-7 p.m.

Enjoy a free afternoon at the Museum of Western Art. There will be plenty of crafting projects, snacks and singing. You can also peruse the works in the permanent collection.

Christmas at the Ridge

The Ridge Marketplace, Kerrville

3-6 p.m.

Come out to this family-friendly holiday event. Festivities include a hot chocolate bar, petting zoo and pony rides, crafts, ornament making, letters to Santa, making your S'mores, and much more. Get your pictures with Santa and his special guests, The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.

Christmas on the Hill

Kerrville Hills Winery, Kerrville

12-5 p.m.

Come shop for the holidays on the Hill. Multiple vendors – jewelry, health and beauty, food trucks, and wine made by our Kerrville Hills incubator clients.

John Denver Tribute Christmas Show

Buckhorn Lake RV Park

5 p.m.

Live performance by John Denver tribute band featuring Chris Collins and Boulder Canyon.

Ingram Christmas Parade

The Old Ingram Loop, Ingram

6 p.m.

Always one of the best parades in the Hill Country, the route is from The Loop to the City Event Park on Old Ingram Loop. Festivities will include Blue Santa, Santa's Elves, Christmas tree lighting, carols and hot cocoa and cookies. Come on out and celebrate the holidays with a parade and tree lighting.

Hunt Community Christmas Party

6-10 p.m.

Who's ready for a Hunt, Texas Christmas party? Grab that tacky Christmas sweater and all of your favorite friends for a Christmas party. Live music (Exit 505), a delicious Chili supper (provided for all guests), and prizes for the ugliest sweater.

In Six Days

Pint and Plow Brewing Co., Kerrville

In Six Days is Magda Peynado — guitar, harmonica, and vocals; and Ray Peynado — guitar, mandolin, lap steel, harmonica, and vocals. The In Six Days band is a husband and wife acoustic duo that enjoys sharing their unique style and interpretations of many musical genres, from easy listening to classic rock to country to R&B.

Abbey Duncan

Southern Sky Cafe, Ingram

6:30 p.m.

Abbey Duncan has been performing around Texas for much of the last year, an up-and-coming country singer, and she makes a stop in Ingram.

Aaron Lacombe

Trailhead Beer Garden, Schreiner University

7 p.m.

His life changed when his dad took him to see Lyle Lovett at an outdoor amphitheater north of Detroit. He taught himself guitar. Now, after marriage, divorce, building and losing a lucrative business, heartbreak and hardship, Aaron lives in the Texas Hill Country, writing and performing songs about a lifetime.

"A Christmas Carol"

The Point Theater, Ingram

7:30 p.m.

No Christmas season is complete without a visit from old skinflint Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future who bring about the most famous transformation in literary history. Join a small group of actors who re-create the dozens of characters populating Dickens' timeless tale of the redemptive power of Christmas. This performance is indoors.

The Nutcracker

7:30 p.m.

The entire Hill Country family – young and young-at-heart will enjoy the amazing ballet and Christmas tradition, Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker," presented by San Antonio's Quenedit Ballet Theatre.
