Physical therapist Katie Segner, owner of “Mama to the Core,” joined the program to discuss pelvic floor health, a topic the hosts acknowledged is often treated as taboo. Segner highlighted what she called “the silent struggle,” noting that many women suffer for years from issues like incontinence and constipation because they are embarrassed to speak up, and health professionals often fail to ask specific questions about it.

“A lot of my patients have been dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction as a chronic issue sometimes for decades… they just thought it was normal and then eventually found out that it’s common but not normal,” Segner said.

Segner explained that her approach is holistic, bridging physical therapy, dietetics, and emotional counseling. She identified childhood constipation and avoidance of using the bathroom due to anxiety as primary drivers of adult pelvic health issues, noting that unresolved childhood habits are “really the driver of urinary incontinence.”

Her career path was inspired by her time as a mentor at a 4-H camp in Brownwood, where she assisted a girl with cerebral palsy and autism, helping to ensure her inclusion in activities like rock climbing and canoeing.

Amestoy Doubles Down on Endorsements

During the political commentary segment, host Louis Amestoy reiterated his endorsements for the upcoming Republican primary, specifically backing Denise Vela for County Clerk and Amber Longenbaugh for District Clerk.

Amestoy praised Vela for standing up to what he called “hysteria around the 2020 election results” and noted Longenbaugh’s decade-plus of running the District Clerk’s office efficiently. He criticized a local voter guide distributed by the group “Liberty in Action,” advising listeners to disregard it for exclusively listing white men in local county races and recommending impeached Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Financial Advisors Discuss Dow 50,000 and AI

Gilbert Paiz and Zach Greener of Texas Hill Country Advisors offered a market update, noting the stock market hitting the 50,000 milestone, which Paiz called largely psychological.

The advisors debated whether the excitement surrounding Artificial Intelligence constituted a bubble. Paiz argued that while the market is getting ahead of itself, current volatility represents a market rotation from high-flying tech stocks toward “blue chip” industrials.
