The National Weather Service extended its Winter Storm Warning for Kerr County through Thursday morning, as the ice storm could intensify by Wednesday.
“Significant icing with treacherous to nearly impossible travel
conditions and power outages will be expected,” the National Weather Service said in its forecast. “Greatest ice accumulations of between 1/4 and 3/4 of an inch will be possible with lighter icing amounts across the southern and eastern counties of the hazard area.”
The storm has already closed Kerr County schools, Kerr County courts and other businesses. Most major stores, including H-E-B and Walmart, are open this morning. Also open are Gibson’s, Walgreens and CVS.
