Land Rush — the annual campsite-claiming tradition held the weekend before the festival opens — is set for May 16. The parking lot opens via the South Gate on Friday, May 15, at noon, with the campground opening at noon Saturday. Campers enter in order of arrival when a horn sounds.
Stakes, required for each 10-by-10-foot camping space, are now available for advance purchase online. Participants must hold a First Weekend ticket or be a registered volunteer. Any vehicle with wheels — including campers, pop-ups, vans and trailers — requires a Sleeper Vehicle Permit in addition to stakes. RVs with reserved festival sites are exempt from Land Rush.
New this year, those bringing personal golf carts must purchase a $35 permit. Full-festival golf cart rentals remain available for $625 for the 18-day run.
The festival has also opened registration for its 2026 workshop lineup, covering songwriting, guitar, ukulele, harmonica and performance instruction. Two off-site wine tasting excursions to Hill Country wineries are also on offer this year. Canoe trips remain on hold pending further evaluation.
Ad space in the festival’s 60-page official program is available through April 24. Inquiries can be directed to media@kerrvillefolkfestival.org.
