The calendar features more than 50 events across seven days, ranging from support groups and wellness programs to holiday markets and live entertainment, offering something for nearly every interest and age group.
Saturday's signature event will be the Wreaths Across America Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Kerrville National Cemetery, where community members will place wreaths honoring 472 veterans. The Kerrville Civil Air Patrol Squadron conducts the ceremony with community support.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown Kerrville. Road closures and route maps are available at kerrvilletx.gov.
Arts and cultural offerings dominate the week's calendar, with multiple events at local institutions.
The show, which runs through Dec. 12, features work from established and new furniture makers, including pieces that blur the line between functional furniture and fine art.
The event, organized by OLÉ (Organization for Latin Engagement), one of the university's largest student organizations, runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Trailhead Beer Garden.
Lanza Teague of KACC said the increased participation reflects three years of effort to rejuvenate the annual exhibition by working with a committee of furniture makers to improve the show and market it differently.
Halloween festivities will take center stage Friday across Kerr County, with more than a dozen themed events offering everything from family-friendly trunk-or-treats to murder mysteries and ghost tours.
The Water Street Festival, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 in downtown Kerrville, marks the first major community event since the July 4 flood. The festival will feature art, music, local shops, galleries, restaurants, vendor booths and live performances throughout the downtown area.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Oct. 10. Members can purchase tickets beginning 10 a.m. Oct. 8.
