House fire shakes up Kerrville neighborhood

Friday night fire was quickly contained by Kerrville Fire Department.

With high winds and cold, dry weather, the Kerrville Fire Department wasted no time knocking down a house fire in a Riverhill home along Spring Mill Drive.

There were no injuries, and a woman and her dog were safely able to leave the home, according to neighbors. Neighbor photos showed active fire in the rear of the single-story house.

By 7:30 p.m., firefighters had vented the roof above the garage, and smoke poured out. Firefighters, who cut their way into the garage, contained the fire to the attic.

Neighbor Cristina Bueche shared a photo of the back of the home on fire in Riverhill on Friday night.
