Goalkeeper Emilie Novasad made six saves in the loss for the Mountaineers, who managed just one shot in the opening half.

Pierce Wear’s second-half goal lifted Austin College to a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Schreiner University on Sunday afternoon at Mountaineer Soccer Field.

The loss dropped the Mountaineers to 2-9-2 overall and 1-2-1 in SCAC play, while Austin College improved to 3-4-2 and 2-1-1 in conference action.
