Rob and Melissa Kamin: July 4, 2025
Their deep love for one another, their children and their community was evident in all they did, and their passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of many.
With broken hearts, we share the loss of Melissa and Robert Kamin of Atascocita, Texas, who passed away together on July 4, 2025, in the tragic flooding on the Guadalupe River near Ingram, Texas. Their deep love for one another, their children and their community was evident in all they did, and their passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of many.
Melissa Kamin, 45, was born in Jasper, Texas, and graduated from Lumberton High School in Lumberton, Texas in 1998. She worked as a physical therapy assistant at Deerbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she was known for her caring nature and dedication to helping others.
Robert “Rob” Kamin, 50, was born in Burlington, Wisconsin and graduated from Sheboygan Lutheran High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1992. He most recently worked as an operator for LyondellBasell. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Rob served as a mechanic and brought that same focus and work ethic to his civilian life. He recently started a small business, RPK Meats, selling handcrafted beef jerky.
They are survived by their daughter, McKenzie Kamin of Atascocita; Rob’s daughters, Lorel Carr of Tyler, Texas, and Jasmine Besozzi of Canton, Ohio; his sons, Quinton Kamin and Nathon Kamin, both of Tyler, Texas; and Melissa’s son, Jakob Delp of Atascocita.
Melissa is also survived by her parents, Susan and Tommy Cobb of Kountze, Texas, and her sister, Cortnee Cornell of Fred, Texas, Thomas Cobb and wife Jessica Cobb,
Tim Cobb and wife Jenny Cobb, and sister Shelly Haley. Rob is survived by his mother, Karen Kamin; his brother, Donald Kamin and wife, Kristin; and his sister, Julie (Scovronski) Heintz and husband, Travis; and family friend, Georgeann Walecka of Sheboygan. Rob is also survived by four grandchildren: Grayson, Addison, Amelia and Selene. He was preceded in death by his father, William Kamin.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18, at Woodlands Church Atascocita, 18111 W. Lake Houston Parkway in Humble, Texas.
