Tanya Burwick: Nov. 5, 1962-July 4, 2025

Tanya Lee Burwick, affectionately known as “Goppy,” went to rest with the Lord and her loved ones in heaven on July 4th, 2025. She was born in Odessa, Texas on November 5th, 1962.Tanya was raised in Bronte, Texas by her parents Jimmy and Carolyn Lee and graduated from Bronte High School. She pursued higher education at Howard College, where she earned her degree in respiratory therapy. For the past ten years, Tanya was a dedicated and loyal employee of Walmart #7220 in San Angelo, Texas. 

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Jimmy and Carolyn Lee, her in-laws T.G. and Lillie Burwick, her son Darin Burwick, her daughter Shay Burwick, and granddaughter “Little “Lillie Burwick.

Tanya is survived by her husband Robert Glenn Burwick; daughter Lindsey Brown Burwick; son Zac Burwick; grandchildren Radin and Gabe Burwick, Addie and Mac Mitchell, and Kaycie Brown; brothers Kyle Lee and wife Janna, Kent Lee, Tim Lee and wife Pam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Tanya’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Texas, with Russ Frasier officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Callen Ware, Bill Miller, Garritt Harris, Brett Wills, Josh Scott, Eddie May, Will Rozzlle, and Auston Parr. Honorary pallbearers include A.J. Monroe, Joey Luckett, Tommy White, and Gid Ware.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the San Angelo Police Department, Chief Travis Griffith, Detective Gibson, the Walmart #7220 family, and all others who assisted in the search to bring Tanya home. We also would like to extend our deepest thanks to the Blackwell and Bronte communities for the outpouring of love and support in our time of need.   

Tanya will be dearly missed here on earth, but she now rests peacefully in Heaven with her loved ones.
