Amber Longenbaugh, a candidate for District Clerk, said she has been met with “partisan vitriol” in her first-ever political campaign, according to an interview on the Wednesday, Feb. 11, episode of The Lead Live.
Longenbaugh, who has worked in the District Clerk’s office for 11 years and currently serves as the criminal court supervisor and jury clerk, acknowledged she was “extremely naive” about the political process. Despite the partisan nature of the race, she stressed that the job itself demands absolute neutrality. Longenbaugh also noted she is running a self-funded campaign with her mother, a retired Army drill sergeant, as her primary volunteer.
