Rebecca Cedillo dies from injuries sustained in Kerrville drag racing crash

Cedillo is the third person to die in the crash

Critically injured in Saturday's drag racing crash, Rebecca Cedillo died early Wednesday morning at University Hospital in San Antonio — the third fatality from the race at Kerrville-Kerr County Airport.

In a statement on a GoFundMe page, organizers confirmed Cedillo, 46, had died. She was the aunt of Santiago Abel Martinez, the eight-year-old boy who died from his injuries after being hit by an out-of-control 1990 Ford Mustang. Martinez died at Peterson Regional Medical Center on Saturday.

"Rebecca gained her wings this early morning," the post said. "We ask that you keep her family in your prayers."

A funeral service for Martinez will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, 535 North Laredo Highway in San Antonio.
