Jessie honorably served his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life he carried with pride.

On Valentine’s Day in 1987, Jessie married Wanda Franco. Though their marriage did not last, together they were blessed with three daughters who were truly the light of his life. Jessie loved being a “girl dad” and took great pride in his family. Nothing brought him more joy than being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.

In his free time, Jessie enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing poker. He loved listening to music and dancing whenever he had the chance. He liked cooking but absolutely loved baking, and his family fondly remembers the many delicious cakes he made over the years.

Jessie is survived by his daughters, Leah Montanez (Zachary Burtchell), Hannah Montanez (Tate Collis), and Jessie Montanez (Jaime Vasquez); his siblings, Armando Montanez, Sammy Montanez (Letty), Victor Montanez, Sylvia Montanez, Patricia Valero, Carmen Faldet (Frankie), Gloria Ramos (Emmett), and Rita Montanez; his grandchildren, Aiden Rendon, Ethan Rendon, Christian Petty, Carter Petty, Masyn Petty, Aleah Solis, Mila O’Malley, and Michael O’Malley; as well as many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelita and Robert Montanez; and his siblings, Joe Montanez, Lisa Barron, Rudy Montanez, Ray Montanez, and Robert “Tito” Montanez.

A Memorial Service will be held on February 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Parlor.
