Kerrville Pets Alive (KPA!) has partnered with The Big Fix Homeless Cat Project and the City of Kerrville to manage community cat colonies throughout the city, officials announced Monday.
The collaborative effort aims to identify colonies and their caretakers to ensure all cats are spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
“We’re focused on supporting a healthy and safe environment in Kerr County for both people and pets,” said KPA! President Karen Guerriero.
The organizations have created a Colony Registration Form to collect essential information. The form serves to protect colony caretakers and their cats while preventing future litters.
Colony caretakers are individuals who voluntarily feed and care for cats they don’t own, providing basic veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries and shelter.
Residents seeking information or registration forms should email kerrvillecatcolony@gmail.com with their email or physical address.
Officials noted that the registration process applies only to colonies within Kerrville city limits.
