Mountaineers have opportunities against Texas Lutheran, fall short

Mountaineers can’t match Texas Lutheran’s inside game.

Angelina Sotelo scored 16 points and Zaria Solis added 13 off the bench as Texas Lutheran defeated Schreiner 69-57 in women’s basketball Saturday.

The Bulldogs controlled the glass with a 53-37 rebounding advantage, led by 14 boards each from Sarahi Jones and Solis. Jones and Kailee Mulkey added 11 rebounds apiece.

Brie Sosa led Schreiner with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, while Madison Parham contributed 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Texas Lutheran led throughout, building an 18-11 first-quarter lead and maintaining a double-digit advantage for most of the game.
