Nonprofit Week 2025: Hill Country Heritage Farmers Market

Joe Martin and Sally Thiel represent the Hill Country Heritage Farmers Market, which offers fresh produce, meats and baked goods while emphasizing non-processed foods.
With about 14 vendors, the market provides items like okra, Wagyu beef, pastured pork, free-range chickens, jams, goat milk soaps and gourmet popcorn. They feature a pastry chef offering various breads and scones.

It reopened July 12, serving as a therapeutic space for community members to talk and find a sense of normalcy. Joe and Sally personally witnessed the river flooding their area on July 4 morning.
They volunteered with Mercy Chefs to prepare meals and later helped manage overwhelming clothing donations at City West Church. Martin, a lawyer, also offers to replace estate planning documents including wills and powers of attorney for flood victims free of charge.
