“Success isn’t a straight line,” Cooper told the students, sharing wisdom from her grandmother.

Miss USA 2024 Alma Cooper brought her powerful message of excellence to Kerrville and Ingram ISD students! This Army first lieutenant and West Point graduate shared her incredible journey with over 500 elementary schoolers at the Hill Country Youth Event Center.

“Success isn’t a straight line,” Cooper told the students, sharing wisdom from her grandmother. When faced with doubters who said she couldn’t make it through West Point, her response? “Watch me.” 💪

As the daughter of an African-American Army veteran and a Mexican immigrant, Cooper made history as the first active-duty Army officer to win Miss USA. Now pursuing her master’s degree at Stanford, she’s proving that excellence knows no boundaries!

The students couldn’t get enough – asking about everything from her favorite color to her toughest classes at West Point.
