Growing up in Southern California, Louis Amestoy remained connected to Texas as the birthplace of his father and grandfather. Texas was always a presence in the family’s life. Amestoy’s great-grandparents settled in San Antonio, Texas, drawn by the city’s connections to Mexico and the region’s German communities. The center at 98 Coronado Drive will serve as a “one-stop shop” for individuals and businesses seeking recovery assistance, officials said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The facility, donated for use by James Avery Artisan Jewelers, will be operated by the Kerr County Long-Term Recovery Group.
