Storied football magazine doesn’t provide a lot of optimism for Kerr County football programs

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football forecasts all three 11-man programs could miss the UIL playoffs.

If you believe the Dave Campbell Texas Football folks, it will be a bleak year for the University Interscholastic League playoffs for Kerr County football programs — or if you’re an optimist, a near-miss season. The storied magazine predicts Tivy, Ingram Tom Moore and Center Point to all finish outside of the playoffs this season. Thanks a lot, Tom.

The magazine picked the Antlers to finish fifth, just missing the playoffs, in District 13, part of the 5A Division II playoff grouping. The magazine predicted Alamo Heights, Boerne, Harlandale and McCollum would all finish ahead of the Antlers, which finished 6-4 but missed the playoffs last season. The Antlers open the season Aug. 30 at Del Rio.

Ingram Tom Moore finished 5-5 last season and hasn’t made the playoffs since 2018. The magazine suggests the Warriors will finish fourth in the District 13 race of the 3A, behind Randolph, Llano and Marion. The Warriors do feature running back Kye Hightower, who is the district’s preseason offensive most valuable player. The Warriors open their season on Aug. 30 against visiting Crystal City.

Center Point did make it to the bi-district round but the magazine suggests the Pirates will finish behind Junction, Bracketville and Sabinal. The Pirates open their season Aug. 30 at Pettus.
