Legal opinions suggest the county may face challenges in narrowly focusing regulations on only BESS plants without affecting other commercial developments.

In local sports, Amestoy outlined significant changes to University Interscholastic League (UIL) district alignments. Tivy High School will drop to 4A Division 1, joining a district with Fredericksburg and three Austin-area schools. Ingram Tom Moore High School was placed in a geographically challenging football district requiring extensive travel to cities like San Angelo and Abilene.

Community events highlighted by local business leaders included:

  • Tailchasers: The restaurant announced a 1920s-themed Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery Dinner for Feb. 14, with tickets priced at $40. They also promoted a St. Patrick’s Day celebration on March 21 featuring “Chicken S*** Bingo.”
  • America 250 Celebration: Doug Hetzler of Gibson’s Discount Center confirmed the commemorative car show is set for May 16, with the goal of featuring 250 American cars. However, registration for the event is currently delayed as organizers work to finalize the online payment system.

Real estate expert Janelle Peralt of JP Properties noted that while inventory remains low, new listings are expected as the spring market approaches. The group concluded the episode with a discussion of the “PolyMarkets” betting platform and Super Bowl predictions, with most guests favoring the Seahawks.
