To celebrate National Hiking Day on Nov. 17, Kerrville-Schreiner Park will offer free admission

Kerrville-Schreiner Park spans 517 acres and features the Texas Master Naturalist Pollinator Garden, a shaded playground and more than 14 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.

The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department will offer free admission to Kerrville-Schreiner Park on Monday, Nov. 17, in celebration of National Hiking Day.

The park, located at 2385 Bandera Highway, will host a guided interpretive hike at 10 a.m. at Trailhead 5. The hike, conducted in partnership with Kerrville’s Bird City Committee, will focus on native birds, plants and wildlife, as well as the city’s efforts to promote bird-friendly habitats and conservation.

The interpretive hike is open to all ages.

National Hiking Day, also known as Take a Hike Day, encourages people to spend time outdoors and explore local trails.

Kerrville-Schreiner Park spans 517 acres and features the Texas Master Naturalist Pollinator Garden, a shaded playground and more than 14 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.

The park’s river area remains closed to the public for safety during ongoing cleanup and debris management operations. Visitors should follow posted signage and avoid areas with debris.
