Celebration of Life for Kynlea Syfert on Sunday at Impact Christian Fellowship
Memorial service honors ‘quiet light’ who touched many hearts
A celebration of life for Kynlea Ryan Syfert, 12, will be held this Sunday, June 29, at 4 p.m. at Impact Christian Fellowship in Kerrville, as family and friends gather to honor the memory of a young woman whose gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Kynlea, the beloved daughter of Dereck and Kylie Syfert, passed away on June 22 at a San Antonio hospital following an off-road vehicle accident. She was surrounded by the love of her family as she entered her Heavenly Father’s arms.
In a touching tribute to Kynlea’s vibrant personality, the family has requested that those attending the memorial service wear her favorite colors—purple and blue—along with white Converse shoes, her signature footwear that reflected her authentic, down-to-earth nature.
“Kynlea was a quiet light, the kind of soul who didn’t need to speak loudly to be deeply known and cherished,” the family shared. “With her sweet smile and sparkling eyes, she brought warmth and joy to those around her in the most effortless ways.”
For The Lead Live, this loss touches particularly close to home. Through the years, we’ve had the privilege of getting to know the incredible kindness of this family through Kynlea’s grandmother, Kristi Vick, who has been part of The Lead Live community. The warmth and genuine care that Kristi has shown our audience reflects the same beautiful spirit that defined Kynlea—and indeed, this entire family.
Kynlea’s passions painted a picture of a young woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was equally at home curled up with a furry friend as she was running free on the soccer field, playing the game she loved. Her subtle sense of humor would catch people off guard, and though her laughter was gentle, it was unforgettable.
Those who knew Kynlea describe her as having a deep heart—one that felt everything fully. This showed in how she loved her family, whether as a daughter, sister, cousin, or friend. She was a constant source of calm and comfort, especially to those in her close circle.
Kynlea leaves behind her loving parents, Dereck and Kylie Syfert; her brother Braedyn; and her sisters Brooklyn, Kaelyn, and Bailey. She is also survived by her grandparents Ron and Kristi Vick, and Guy and Pam Syfert; great-grandparents Phil and Linda Pendley and Kathryn Murphree; as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless others who loved her dearly.
In a beautiful reflection of Kynlea’s caring nature, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to causes that were close to her heart. Those wishing to honor her memory can contribute to Hill Country United Soccer for a soccer scholarship in Kynlea’s name, or to Texas Round Up Alliance, an animal rescue center.

Though her time with us was far too short, Kynlea’s impact was deep and lasting. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely. As her family beautifully expressed, “We will carry her memory in our hearts forever, and in every sunset, soccer match, and wagging tail, we will be reminded of her beautiful soul.”
