Jim Ned rallies from 2 sets down to end Ingram Tom Moore’s volleyball season

Ava Demasco led Ingram with 23 kills and added 15 digs. Cadence Woodruff contributed 13 kills while Jojo Hennigan added nine.

Jim Ned overcame a two-set deficit to eliminate Ingram 14-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-21, 16-14 in a bi-district playoff match Thursday night, ending the Warriors’ season.

Ingram (29-9) appeared in control after dominating the first two sets, but Jim Ned rallied to force a decisive fifth set before pulling out the narrow victory in the 2-hour, 14-minute match.

The Warriors played without sophomore outside hitter Aarlynn Zastrow, who suffered a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago.

Ava Demasco led Ingram with 23 kills and added 15 digs. Cadence Woodruff contributed 13 kills while Jojo Hennigan added nine.

Setter Kenna Nichols distributed 30 assists and served three aces for the Warriors.

Defensively, libero Alec Alvarado anchored Ingram with 35 digs while Haley Alavarado added 17. The Warriors totaled 110 digs as a team.

Ingram hit .205 for the match with 56 kills and 15 errors on 200 total attacks. The Warriors recorded eight total blocks.

The loss concluded Ingram’s season in the Class 3A playoffs.
