The run is sponsored by the Volunteer Services Council, which is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and enhancing the quality of life for individuals receiving care at Kerrville State Hospital. After 30 years of working for corporate media chains, Louis Amestoy saw a chance to establish an independent voice in the Texas Hill Country. He launched The Lead to be that vehicle.
