Robert Sidney Yarbrough, 71, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 9, 1954, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Robert Edward Yarbrough and Lou Ann Hassenflu.
Sid married the love of his life, Sandra Yarbrough, on August 31, 1987, in Kerrville, where they built a life rooted in hard work and family.
A proud graduate of Tivy High School’s Class of 1973, Sid wasted no time chasing his ambitions. Shortly after graduation, he earned his real estate license, but his true passion led him to build his own shop later that same year—Texas Paint & Body. Together, Sid and Sandy ran the business for many years, creating not just a livelihood, but a legacy that continues today through their son Bert and daughter-in-law Jessica.
Sid was a man who found joy in working with his hands and helping others. He had a deep love for engines, spending countless hours building hot rods from the ground up. Beyond his work, Sid cherished time at the beach and, above all, the moments spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Yarbrough; his mother, Lou Ann Hassenflu; and his sister, Ann Irene Yarbrough.
Sid leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love: his devoted wife, Sandy; his son, Bert, and daughter-in-law, Jessica; and his beloved grandchildren, Owen and Lori.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, generosity, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
A book to send love and condolences will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
