Warren Moncsko: Nov. 27, 1944-June 25, 2026

Warren proudly served his country in the United States Navy for nine years, serving aboard submarines. His final deployment was aboard the USS Simon Bolivar. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life.

Warren Anthony Moncsko, 81, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026.

Born on November 27, 1944, in Islip, New York, Warren was the son of Anthony Moncsko and Clara Sieh. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University before beginning a successful career as a software engineer. He worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and DCSS while living in Massachusetts, where he built a career centered on technology and innovation. Even in his free time, Warren enjoyed tinkering with computers and keeping up with advances in technology.

A man of deep faith and service, Warren was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was also a licensed minister. He devoted much of his time to mission work, volunteering with Texans on Mission, and enjoyed traveling as part of his ministry and service efforts. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

On September 11, 1965, Warren married the love of his life, Phyllis McCrary, in North Carolina. They shared more than 55 years of marriage before her passing on January 20, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Phyllis; his son, Brian Moncsko; his daughter, Sharon Broderick; his brother, Robert Moncsko; and his sister-in-law, Anne Moncsko.

Warren is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tamera Callister and husband Brandon of Kerrville, Texas, and Lisa Patteson and husband Rick of Columbus; his grandchildren, Hillary Tarnowski and husband Justin of Acton, Massachusetts, Tianna Dean and husband Dustin of Moore, South Carolina, Brendan Broderick and wife Carley of Lowell, Massachusetts, Cheyenne Patteson of Columbus, and McKenna Patteson of Columbus; eight cherished great-grandchildren; and his brother, George Moncsko and his wife of Tucson, Arizona, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A graveside service with full U.S. Navy honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
