Alberto “Beto” Guajardo Guzman: Dec. 9, 1936-Jan. 31, 2023

For his career, he worked as a barber inspector for the State of Texas. After retirement, he worked as an instructor for the San Antonio Barber College.

Alberto ”Beto” Guajardo Guzman was a good man, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world on January 31st, 2023 at the age of 86.

He was born to Evangelina Guajardo Guzman and Encarnacion Guzman on December 9th, 1936, in Donna, Texas. At the age of 17, he left to join the Navy and serve his country during the Korean war. When he completed his service, he married the beautiful Matilda Ybarra. Together they raised 6 children and 1 grandchild.

In his early days, Beto loved spending time collecting antiques and playing craps in his backyard sanctuary called the ”cuartito” where he perfected his craps game. For his hobbies, he raced greyhounds and frequented Las Vegas with his family and friends. For his career, he worked as a barber inspector for the State of Texas. After retirement, he worked as an instructor for the San Antonio Barber College.

Alberto was preceded in death by ex-wife, Matilda Guzman; his parents; and his sister, Consuelo Zamora.

Survivors include 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM-11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Rev. John Onstott.
