Marquita Seaton Patterson passed away on August 12, 2026, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on November 17, 1948, in Muleshoe, Texas. She married Charles Patterson on December 28, 1968, in Muleshoe, Texas. They met in Lubbock, Texas while both were attending Texas Tech University.
Marquita served as a pastor alongside her husband for 30 years at Church of the Hills in Austin, Texas, which they founded together. Marquita had a heart for people to be rooted and grounded in the Lord and had a passion for serving the Lord. Marquita also had an incredible heart for missions and traveled alongside her husband to many countries serving missionaries.
Marquita is survived by her husband Charles; her daughter, Sharla (husband Ted), her grandchildren, Olivia and Hunter; and her son, Chad (wife Marna) and grandchildren, Jerod, Ben, Ethan, Reagan, and Sarah. She is predeceased by her father, RB; mother, Lela; and her sister, Gayla.
Services will be held at Hill Country Church, San Marcos, Texas, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Tim Darnell.
