Kerrville police investigate overnight shooting on West Schreiner Street

The woman was flown by air ambulance to a San Antonio hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

The Kerrville Police Department is investigating a shooting Friday night that left an 18-year-old Kerrville woman wounded.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 300 block of West Schreiner Street at about 9:42 p.m. Friday, according to KPD. Several rounds were fired, striking an 18-year-old woman who was sitting in a parked car in front of the residence.

The woman was flown by air ambulance to a San Antonio hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

An initial investigation found that a vehicle drove past the residence and a suspect inside fired several rounds toward the house and people in the yard. At least one round struck and entered the occupied home. No one else was injured.

Detectives are still gathering facts, and police said no additional information will be released at this time. KPD said there does not appear to be a threat to the general public.
