Ivan Renteria: Sept. 16, 1984-June 18, 2026

Beyond the uniform, Ivan was a man of deep devotion to his family. He loved nothing more than spending his off-duty hours with his two boys, cooking out, and spending time with his family and friends.

It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Ivan Renteria, 41, of Kerrville, Texas who passed away on June 18, 2026. He was a devoted spouse, son, father, brother, proud Border Patrol Agent, and a cherished pillar of the community.

Born on September 16, 1984 in Kerrville, Ivan was known from a young age for a steadfast commitment to helping others and protecting the vulnerable. This lifelong calling led him to a distinguished career in law enforcement. He proudly served the United States Border Patrol for 19 years.

Throughout his career, Ivan Renteria earned the respect of colleagues and the community alike, for his unwavering integrity, bravery, and compassionate approach to his work. Whether patrolling the streets, mentoring younger officers, or working directly with the community, he went above and beyond to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community. His legacy will forever inspire those who wear the badge.

Beyond the uniform, Ivan was a man of deep devotion to his family. He loved nothing more than spending his off-duty hours with his two boys, cooking out, and spending time with his family and friends. His warm smile, quick wit, and generous heart brought joy to everyone in his circle, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ivan is survived by his two boys Andrew and Evan and their mother, his parents Eladio and Aurora, his older brother David, twin brother Eric, and younger brother Omar Renteria.

Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m., June 24, 2026 at Kerrville Funeral Home, located at 1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, Texas. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00p.m. Wednesday. On Thursday, the family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 8:00 am to 8:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m., June 26th at Notre Dame Catholic Church, located at 909 Main St., followed by interment with full law enforcement honors at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 3250 Fredericksburg Rd.
