Emerging singer-songwriter Nicky Diamonds opens the evening at 7 p.m. with music that bridges folk traditions and contemporary influences. Known for creating intimate atmospheres through personal storytelling, Diamonds has gained recognition for thoughtful lyrics that connect individual experiences with universal themes.

Texas-based Prophets and Outlaws takes the stage at 8 p.m., bringing their self-described “Texas soul” sound that fuses Southern soul, country and rock elements. The band has built a dedicated following through extensive touring and releases featuring rich harmonies and groove-oriented rhythms rooted in Southern musical traditions.

The Peterson Brothers follow at 9 p.m. with their blend of blues, funk and soul. Led by siblings Glenn Jr. and Alex Peterson, the young duo has already established themselves as virtuosic instrumentalists who honor blues traditions while incorporating jazz and soul elements into their dynamic performances.

Portland, Oregon’s FRUITION closes the evening at 10 p.m. The band has evolved from acoustic street performers to a touring act known for three-part harmonies and collaborative songwriting. Their music combines folk-rock, Americana, soul and bluegrass influences, balancing traditional instrumentation with contemporary sensibilities.

Tonight’s lineup exemplifies the festival’s commitment to showcasing both emerging talent and established acts across the spectrum of American roots music. The 53rd annual festival runs through June 8 at Quiet Valley Ranch, featuring more than 100 artists across multiple stages.

Growing up in Southern California, Louis Amestoy remained connected to Texas as the birthplace of his father and grandfather. Texas was always a presence in the family’s life. Amestoy’s great-grandparents settled in San Antonio, Texas, drawn by the city’s connections to Mexico and the region’s German communities. In 2019, Louis Amestoy saw an opportunity to make a home in Texas. After 30 years of working for corporate media chains, Louis Amestoy saw a chance to establish an independent voice in the Texas Hill Country. He launched The Lead to be that vehicle. With investment from Meta, Amestoy began independently publishing on Aug. 9, 2021. The Amestoys have called Kerrville home since 2019.
