Winter Storm Watch headed our way on Monday, freezing rain
Kerr County faces a winter storm watch on Monday through Wednesday with freezing rain headed our way.
What seems like an annual tradition — freezing February — returns to Kerrville and Kerr County on Monday. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch from noon on Monday through noon Wednesday.
“Periods of freezing drizzle and freezing rain will be possible Monday night into Tuesday morning and Tuesday night into Wednesday morning across this region,” the National Weather Service said. “The bulk of the icing potential is expected to set up over Hill Country.”

Monday’s high could be 39 degrees, with overnight lows expected to dip to 30. The National Weather Service says there is a 60% chance of freezing rain on Monday, which increases to 90% for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service said ice accumulations could reach 1/4-inch in places across the Hill Country. By Wednesday, the storm should give way to rain, but travel conditions could be hazardous.
“Our main concern for ice accumulation is across the higher terrain of the Hill Country,” the National Weather Service said.
