A ribbon cutting in Hunt, Schreiner University’s commencement, a Gary P. Nunn benefit concert and a film about the Guadalupe River highlight a full week of community events across Kerr County.
Hunt Community Center marks new chapter
One of the week’s most anticipated moments comes Saturday morning in Hunt, where a ribbon cutting and open house at the new Hunt Community Center is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Preservation Park. The event marks a milestone for the small Hill Country community as it continues to rebuild and look ahead.
Schreiner graduates take the stage
Friday evening, Schreiner University will hold its 2026 commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on campus, sending another class of Mountaineers into the world. The ceremony doubles as one of Kerrville’s signature annual civic moments.
Hope for the Guadalupe comes to The Arcadia
On Thursday at 7:30 p.m., The Arcadia Live hosts a screening of “Hope for the Guadalupe,” a Fin and Fur Films production directed by Ben Masters. The film chronicles loss, resilience and restoration along one of the Hill Country’s most beloved rivers — a story that resonates deeply in this community. Tickets and information are available at hopefortheguadalupe.org.
The river theme continues Sunday, when Texas music legend Gary P. Nunn headlines the Plant the Guadalupe Benefit Concert at Crider’s Rodeo and Dancehall beginning at noon. The event is organized by the San Antonio Bay Gateway, with details at sabgtx.org.
