John Burkholder: Sept. 8, 1948-May 30, 2025

He was a proud alumnus of Texas A&M University and had a long and fulfilling career teaching several high school science subjects in Houston.

John Ward Burkholder of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2025, in Kerrville. He was born in Painesville, Ohio, on September 8, 1948, to Ward and Hazel Burkholder.

He was a proud alumnus of Texas A&M University and had a long and fulfilling career teaching several high school science subjects in Houston. He greatly enjoyed hearing from his former students. In retirement, he became an accomplished hobbyist astronomer and played in the Hill Country Senior Softball League.

John is survived by his brother, Chris, two nieces, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, who love him and will miss him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10 at at 1:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville and led by Pastor John Wheat.
