Linda Lou Imel: Dec. 22, 1950-May 14, 2026

Lulu had a fire for always living life to its fullest through her experiences. She was an avid traveler and owned Kerrville Travel, where she lovingly helped clients build the adventures she was so passionate about.

Our Lulu, Linda Lou Lehmann Imel, 75, of Kerrville, passed away on May 14th, 2026. She was born to Frances and Gene Lehmann, in Kerrville, on December 22, 1950. She married Ronald D. Imel on November 19, 1988, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kerrville.

She graduated from Tivy High School and The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Batchelor’s Degree. Linda spent a great deal of time in Washington DC, working for the Reagan administration. She later moved back to Kerrville and fell madly in love with Ron, soon marrying him and his three children.

Lulu had a fire for always living life to its fullest through her experiences. She was an avid traveler and owned Kerrville Travel, where she lovingly helped clients build the adventures she was so passionate about. Lulu was always the life of the party. She loved tearing up the dance floor with Ron, taking trips with her family and spoiling her grandchildren with surprises.

During her fierce, almost four-year battle with cancer, Lulu never gave up and loved making new friends everywhere she went. She made an incredible impact on all those who touched her heart.  Her legacy for love, faith, strength and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gussie Eugene Lehmann and Frances Mae Higdon Lehmann, and sister-in-law, Wendy Ellen Lehmann.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Imel; children, Allison Imel, Lindsey Nisbet (Dale), Drew Imel (Jennifer); grandchildren, David Pearson (Molly), Ethan Imel-Hamza, Maia Imel-Hamza, Hinley Imel, James Nisbet, Christopher Nisbet, Margaret Nisbet; siblings, Maribess Miller (Jerry), David Lehmann, Jeana Krause (Mike), Reagan Lehmann (Renee); and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Conference Center at the Inn of the Hills. All those in attendance are asked to wear bright colors as we are celebrating the life of our radiant Lulu.

Also, please make it known to all, that Drew is her favorite son. Forever.

Amestoy’s great-grandparents settled in San Antonio, Texas, drawn by the city’s connections to Mexico and the region’s German communities.
