Marjorie Lorraine Burrus: Dec. 16, 1926-Jan. 11, 2024

Marjorie was raised on her family’s ranch in Mountain Home, where she lived for 89 years. She graduated from Tivy High School. After marrying, she stayed home as a homemaker raising her children and tending her garden.

Marjorie Lorraine Burrus, age 97, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully at home January 11, 2024. She was born in Kerrville to Ernest Love and Elvira Real on December 16, 1926. She married William T. Burrus on July 20, 1948.

Marjorie was raised on her family’s ranch in Mountain Home, where she lived for 89 years. She graduated from Tivy High School. After marrying, she stayed home as a homemaker raising her children and tending her garden.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elvira Love; husband, William Thomas Burrus; son William Thomas Burrus, Jr.; brother, Robert; sister, Edna; and nephew, Thane Farris.

Survivors include son, Ernest Burrus; sister, Luann Farris; granddaughters, Christy Joy and husband Cash, Jessica Gentry and husband Blake; great-grandchildren, Dandi Joy, Cali and Lane Gentry; niece, Laura Farris; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Nichols Cemetery with Rev. Chip Johnston officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Divide Volunteer Fire Department.
