Nonprofit Week 2025: Kerr County Women’s Chamber

The organization has provided over $250,000 in scholarships to women for education

Rose Bradshaw and BK Gamble represent the Kerr County Women’s Chamber, a nonprofit dedicated to women helping women in the community through fundraising and philanthropy.

The organization has provided over $250,000 in scholarships to women for education, helping them further their careers and support their families, especially single mothers. They do not accept high school graduates for scholarships, focusing instead on women who need to “get back on their feet.”

The chamber also hosts an annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner, a free event for nearly 100 veterans, and gives out beautification awards for local homes and businesses. While named the “Women’s Chamber,” they welcome men as members and meet monthly.

They collaborate with other organizations like the Christian Women’s Job Corps, Dietert Center and Pregnancy Resource Center. The speakers shared personal experiences with the recent flood, describing the devastation as “hard,” “overwhelming” and “surreal.”

The organization continues its mission of supporting women’s advancement and community beautification while adapting to serve recovery needs in the post-flood environment.
