Sign up now: Lead Live’s Fifth Annual Nonprofit Week set for Aug. 17-21

Nearly 30 Kerr County nonprofits have already claimed spots across the five-day broadcast.

Registration is open for Lead Live’s Fifth Annual Nonprofit Week — and segments are filling fast.

The broadcast runs Monday, Aug. 17, through Friday, Aug. 21, airing live each morning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on The Kerr County Lead’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Each organization gets a 20-minute on-air conversation to share its mission, programs, and needs with the Kerr County community. Segments are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nearly 30 Kerr County nonprofits have already claimed spots across the five-day broadcast. Confirmed participants include Peterson Health Foundation, Kerrville Pets Alive, Together With Hill Country Veterans, the Hill Country Veterans Center, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, Riverside Nature Center, the Dietert Center, KerrKonnect, the Hill Country Crisis Council, Playhouse 2000, the H.E. Butt Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Kerr County, Gunny’s Warriors, Sisters in Service Kerrville, Hill Country MHDD Centers, The Ultimate Gift of Life, and others.

Tuesday is nearly full. Open slots remain on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — with the most availability on Friday morning. Any Kerr County nonprofit is welcome to participate.

Last year’s Fourth Annual Nonprofit Week drew leaders from more than 40 organizations and became one of the most-watched weeks in Lead Live’s history. All segments will again be available as video and downloadable audio on thekerrcountylead.com following the broadcast.

Growing up in Southern California, Louis Amestoy remained connected to Texas as the birthplace of his father and grandfather. Texas was always a presence in the family’s life. Amestoy’s great-grandparents settled in San Antonio, Texas, drawn by the city’s connections to Mexico and the region’s German communities. In 2019, Louis Amestoy saw an opportunity to make a home in Texas. After 30 years of working for corporate media chains, Louis Amestoy saw a chance to establish an independent voice in the Texas Hill Country. He launched The Lead to be that vehicle. With investment from Meta, Amestoy began independently publishing on Aug. 9, 2021. The Amestoys have called Kerrville home since 2019.
