Nonprofit Week 2025: Playhouse 2000 and the Cailloux Center for the Performing Arts

Playhouse 2000 operates the Cailloux Theater and VK Garage Theater, presenting diverse performances from Shakespeare to contemporary musicals. The Cailloux Theater reopened after six months of renovations including a new roof, AC system and hearing assistance system.

The organization prepares for a busy fall season, with “Into the Woods” opening Aug. 29, followed by various concerts and shows, including BeeGees and Patsy Cline tributes. Playhouse 2000 emphasizes experiencing entertainment and arts in group settings as community healing, especially after the flood.

Running the Cailloux Theater requires around $350,000 annually from sponsors and foundations to keep tickets affordable. The organization always seeks volunteers for various roles.
