The Kerrville Independent School District board of trustees approved a contract extension for Superintendent Mark Foust on Wednesday night.
The contract keeps Foust with the district through 2024. After a lengthy executive session, the trustees voted to accept Foust's performance evaluation and grant him the contract extension.
Foust currently earns $221,000 per year in salary and receives health care benefits, a $7,500 per year annuity and expenses covered by the district for professional development and travel.
Through the last 18 months, Foust helped the district navigate the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, which closed schools at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Over the last year, the district completed the new Hal Peterson Middle School campus and has further battled the disruption caused by COVID-19.
