Tyree Thompson: Oct. 25. 1953-Oct. 24, 2026

After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering at the Hill Country Youth Ranch thrift shop and playing 18 at Schreiner Golf Course, a game he loved. (Most days.)

Tyree Thompson, 72, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 24, 2026. He was born on Oct. 25, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona, to James and Charlotte Thompson.

Ty was an Analyzer Systems Integration Engineer and spent most of his working years in the Houston area. He treasured the friendships he forged with his co-workers at Core Lab Pastech. Becoming an estimator and working mainly from home made the decision an easy one, a move to our treasured Hill Country. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering at the Hill Country Youth Ranch thrift shop and playing 18 at Schreiner Golf Course, a game he loved. (Most days.)

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Chris; daughters, Charlotte (Connor) and Emily; daughter-in-law, Renee (Darren); brother, Jim (Sharen); and grandchildren, Teddy, Olive and Fitz. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him, and, in his exact words, the best and craziest in-laws a guy could marry into.

The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation for the loving and kindest of care provided by Peterson Hospice.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, Peterson Hospice or the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
