BROWNWOOD, Texas — Schreiner University’s men’s soccer team beat Howard Payne 3-1 on Saturday at Citizens National Bank Field, completing a season sweep of the Yellow Jackets a week after winning the teams’ first meeting 3-2 in Kerrville.

Cameron Hoschar opened the scoring just four minutes in, finishing an assist from Gabe Zagastizabal. Cody Smith doubled the lead in the 31st minute, again off a Zagastizabal assist, and struck three minutes again into the second half — this time assisted by Hoschar — to make it 3-0. Howard Payne’s Connor Parker got the hosts on the board in the 77th minute, assisted by Nate Smith, but Schreiner closed out the win from there.
