Kerrville’s bank boom continues: Security Service Federal Credit Union eyes former IHOP site
The move adds SSFCU to a recent wave of banks setting up shop in Kerrville, following Frost Bank, the Bank and Trust and Rio Bank.
Security Service Federal Credit Union is planning its first Kerrville branch, converting the shuttered IHOP at 1429 Sidney Baker St. The credit union’s nearest existing location is in Boerne.
The move adds SSFCU to a recent wave of banks setting up shop in Kerrville, following Frost Bank, the Bank and Trust and Rio Bank.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing puts the remodel at $2 million for the 5,037-square-foot building, with work running Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, 2026. San Antonio-based Luna Architecture designed the project, filed under number TABS2026025677, and the state’s review is listed as complete. The project is privately funded on private land, with no tenant involved.
