Liberty Hill runs past Tivy with a 63-6 rout

The No. 2-ranked team in Texas 5-A D2 rolls past the visiting Antlers

LIBERTY HILL — Tivy faced an offensive onslaught on Friday night in a 63-6 defeat against Liberty Hill, the No. 2-ranked team in the UIL's 5A, Division II rankings.

The key performance for Tivy: Logan Edmonds scored on a 1-yard touchdown, but he set up the drive with a 42-yard kick-off return. Edmonds carried the ball eight times on the drive.

Liberty Hill's offense shines: The Panthers rushed for 541 yards, including 228 by running back Ben Carter, who scored five touchdowns.

Notable: The 57-point loss was the worst in the 10 years Tivy coach David Jones has been at the program's helm.

What's next for Tivy: The Antlers are now 2-3 and 0-1 in District 13, and will play host to Bastrop next Friday night.
